Jerome Gumbs - Trainer / Coach
Jerome Gumbs currently plays basketball professionally overseas. Last season he played for Inter Bratislava in Slovakia after previous stints with T71 Dudelange in Luxombourg and Ciclista Olympico in Argentina. Over his three year pro career Jerome has averaged more than 22 points-per-game, finding himself among the league leaders in scoring at all three stops. Known for his versatility, he has shot better than 43% from three-point-range while being among the team leaders in rebounds as well as the best defender.
Jerome graduated from the University of San Francisco, where he was a three-year-starter for the Dons. After training with Donovan Blythe following his sophomore season, Jerome saw rapid improvement in his game his final two seasons, becoming a double-figure scorer and the team's best perimeter rebounder while shouldering the task of guarding the opponent's best offensive player. He was a two-time recipient of the Arthur C. Zief Jr Most Inspirational Award as well as the Bob Giron Coaches Award for effort.
Described by his coaches and teammates as relentless, hard-working and a great team leader, Jerome brings his talents to the Blythe's Basketball staff during his off-season. His passion and knowledge of the game, tireless training regimen, leadership abilities and experience as a professional playing overseas makes Jerome a valuable resource with both younger players wanting to improve as well as college graduates looking to further their careers.
